BOGOTA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Colombia head coach Carlos Queiroz on Tuesday recalled River Plate forward Rafael Santos Borre and Flamengo midfielder Orlando Berrio to his national squad for friendlies against Brazil and Venezuela.

Both players were rewarded for an impressive start to the season for their respective clubs, having been absent from Colombia's squad for the 2019 Copa America in Brazil.

There was no place on the 24-man list for veteran striker Radamel Falco or playmaker James Rodriguez, both of whom are suffering leg muscle injuries.

Newcomers to the squad include Atletico Nacional defender Daniel Munoz, Leon midfielder Yairo Moreno as well as goalkeepers Aldair Quintana (Atletico Nacional) and Eder Chaux (Patriotas).

Colombia will face Brazil in Miami on September 6 and Venezuela in Tampa four days later.

The matches will be Colombia's first outings since their Copa America quarterfinal defeat to Chile on penalties in June.

Following is the Colombia squad:

Goalkeepers: David Ospina, Alvaro Montero, Aldair Quintana and Eder Chaux.

Defenders: Stefan Medina, Luis Orejuela, William Tesillo, Cristian Borja, Davinson Sanchez, Yerry Mina, John Lucumi and Oscar Murillo.

Midfielders: Orlando Berrio, Daniel Munoz, Matheus Uribe, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Wilmar Barrios, Yairo Moreno, Jefferson Lerma and Luis Diaz.

Forwards: Duvan Zapata, Luis Muriel, Roger Martinez and Rafael Santos Borre.
