3 killed in traffic accident in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed in a traffic accident early Thursday in Mongolia, according to the country's traffic police department.

"Unfortunately, one man and two women in their 30s were killed in the accident of drifting in the capital city of Ulan Bator," the traffic police department said in a statement.

The accident occurred in the early hours on Thursday in the Bayanzurkh district of Ulan Bator.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Drifting is a driving technique where drivers turn at high speeds to make their tyres lose traction and send their vehicles into spin, while at the same time trying to maintain control.
