5.9-magnitude quake hits Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge: USGS

NEW YORK, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at 22:45:48 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 23.752 degrees north latitude and 45.2143 degrees west longitude.
