"Fast and Furious" spin-off still leads Chinese mainland box office

BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," the latest spin-off of "The Fast and the Furious" franchise, led the Chinese mainland box office on Thursday, the China Movie Data Information Network said Friday.

The film raked in 15.63 million yuan (2.21 million U.S. dollars), accounting for around 43 percent of the daily total.

Coming in second was Chinese animated film "Ne Zha," which grossed 7.63 million yuan on Thursday.

"The Bravest," a Chinese feature film putting spotlight on firefighters, ranked third by raking in 4.3 million yuan on its 36th day of screening.
