LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Global data science professionals will gather at a two-day summit in Pasadena, California, in December, to share best practices in leveraging data science and latest development in big data analysis, the organizer announced on Saturday.

The conference, named InnoDS, will be hosted by the Research Methods and Data Science (RMDS) Lab, a leading community-centered data science research organization headquartered in Pasadena.

The event, to be held from Dec. 6-7 at Pasadena Convention Center, will focus on best practices in leveraging data science for competitive advantages, and bring together professionals along with novices to brainstorm on in-demand skills and emerging topics, Alex Liu, founder of RMDS Lab and Chief Data Scientist of IBM, told Xinhua.

InnoDS features thought-provoking talks, panels, exhibition, conference sessions and workshops which are designed to enhance attendees' data science capabilities with technical skill training and future studies centered on emerging topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, according to Liu.

Speakers to address the event include George Djorgovski, director of Astronomy at California Institute of Technology; Jeanne Holm, senior technology advisor to the Mayor of Los Angeles; and Shahid Chishty, CEO of OmniX Digital.

Since its founding in 2009, RMDS Lab has cultivated a dedicated community including data scientists, scholars, industry thought leaders, analytics managers, C-Suite executives and entrepreneurs.
