BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Swedish award-winning classical guitarist Goran Sollscher will give a recital at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Sunday, Sept. 15.
Known for his broad range of musical interpretations ranging from Bach to the Beatles, the virtuoso guitarist will play pieces from Villa-Lobos' Prelude No. 1 to the Beatles' Abbey Road Suite.
Sollscher's international career began in Denmark during his years of education at the Royal Conservatory of Copenhagen. At the age of 23, he won the Concours International de Guitare in Paris in 1978. He was signed by German record label Deutsche Grammophon, the largest label featuring classical guitarists.
From his native Sweden, Sollscher has toured all over the world -- Europe, North and South America, China, Japan, Scandinavia -- giving recitals as well as performing as a soloist with various orchestras.
