BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A book featuring China's scientific development over the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 has been published.
The book was compiled by the Ministry of Science and Technology and published by the Scientific and Technical Documentation Press (STDP). It introduces China's progress on science and technology and summarizes the experience of China's scientific and technological reform and development.
Li Jiangtao, a professor at the Party School of the Communist Party of China Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), said the book allows readers to have a systematic understanding of China's scientific development in the past 70 years, as well as how China pursued its own path of independent innovation with Chinese characteristics.
The book will help call for more attention to and support for scientific development, boost the confidence in scientific and technological innovation, and promote innovation-driven development, said Hu Hongliang, president of the STDP.
