SARAJEVO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Prosineski, head coach of the Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) national team, had his resignation request rejected by the BiH Football Association on Tuesday.
BiH lost 4-2 to Armenia in the sixth round of European 2020 qualifier group J in Yerevan on Sunday. In the post-match press conference, Prosinecki announced his resignation as the head coach. On his return to Sarajevo, he reiterated his position and blessed his successor.
At a special meeting on Tuesday, the BiH Football Association rejected Prosineski's request to resign, saying it fully supported his work. The association emphasized that until the end of the qualifiers, Prosineski is still the best candidate to coach the national team.
Prosineski said he will try his best to lead the team to play the remaining four games.
