THE HAGUE, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Sergio Garcia secured victory in the 100th edition of the Dutch Open, also known as the KLM Open, at The International golf course near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Sunday.
The 39-year-old Spaniard went into the final round as joint leader with Britain's Callum Shinkwin. With a final round of 69 strokes he ended up at 270 (-18), with which he beat the 18-year-old Danish rising star Nicolai Hojgaard, who had a final round of 68, by one stroke.
Shinkwin suffered on the last day of the tournament and dropped to the 5th position with a round of 74 and a total of 275 (-13). It was the 16th European Tour title for Garcia.
