BEIRUT, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said here on Monday that his country is willing to take part in Lebanon's second licensing round for offshore oil and gas exploration, local media reported.

"Qatar is also ready to participate in the auctions for building new power stations in Lebanon," al-Kaabi was quoted as saying during his visit to Lebanon by Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.

During his meeting with Lebanon's Water and Energy Minister Nada Boustani, al-Kaabi followed up about the auctions that will be released with regard to gasification-based power stations.

Al-Kaabi also met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri at Grand Serail where they discussed the potential of energy cooperation between the two countries.
