BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's border check agencies saw about 5.29 million inbound and outbound trips made during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, down 7 percent year on year, the National Immigration Administration (NIA) said Monday.

The average daily trips at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and other major airports in the cities of Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu reached 104,000, 75,000, 48,000 and 19,000 respectively, standing roughly on par with the same period last year, the NIA said.

While Gongbei Port linking the Chinese mainland and Macao saw a one-percent increase in its daily passenger flow, the ports of Luohu, Futian, Shenzhen Bay, Huanggang and West Kowloon Station, which connect the mainland and Hong Kong, witnessed a drop in their inbound and outbound trips, down 15.6 percent, 28.5 percent, 25.9 percent, 30.7 percent and 13.5 percent respectively.

The Mid-Autumn Festival fell on Sept. 13 this year.
