PARIS, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.24 percent, or 13.28 points, to close at 5,615.51 points.
A total of 19 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French distilled beverages producer Pernod Ricard advanced 2.53 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational electric utility company Engie S.A. rose 2.46 percent and European software company Dassault Systems gained 2.25 percent.
International oil and gas industry service provider Technipfmc lost 6.14 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational mirror manufacturer Compagnie de Saint-Gobain lost 2.64 percent and French banking company Credit Agricole edged down 2.55 percent. Enditem
