KUNMING, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A symposium to boost agricultural cooperation between southwest China's Yunnan and four northern provinces of Vietnam concluded Friday in the border province's Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

The three-day event attracted about 50 experts from the two sides, who exchanged views on topics including ways to increase the income of farmers living along the border and the building of a bilateral cross-border agricultural and industrial economic belt.

Yunnan has been actively promoting cooperation between Vietnam in recent years.

Last October, six Vietnamese scientists and technicians attended a training course on vegetable resources and cultivation techniques in Yunnan.

Scientists from the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (YAAS) also went to Vietnam this year to hold training courses on cultivation techniques, giving away 15,000 seedlings.

The event has taken place annually, alternating between Yunnan and Vietnam since 2017.
