The revenue of the industry rose 9.4 percent year on year to 2.49 trillion yuan (about 350.9 billion U.S. dollars) from January to July.

BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's catering business saw continued growth during the first seven months of the year, data from China Hospitality Association showed.

The revenue of the industry rose 9.4 percent year on year to 2.49 trillion yuan (about 350.9 billion U.S. dollars) from January to July, said the association.

It estimated that the consumption of China's catering industry will hit 4.7 trillion yuan for the whole year.

Thanks to the government's pro-growth policies to boost consumption, consumption growth remains an ever more robust driver for the economy.

In the first eight months, retail sales of consumer goods climbed 8.2 percent year on year to 26.22 trillion yuan, official data showed.
