DHAKA, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- China is not merely developing herself but also bringing development dream to the world, a Bangladeshi ruling party leader has said.

Ahead of the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China (PRC), Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, an advisory council member of Bangladesh Awami League party, told Xinhua in an interview, "In the world today, China has come up with a dream, very big dream, the dream for the whole world."

After the World War II, the world has been more connected. International organizations emerged, including the United Nations (U.N.), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank, said Chowdhury.

However, initiatives by the organizations could not fulfill the wishes and needs of the people in the world, said Chowdhury, who has had experience of working at the U.N. and other international bodies.

"People want solution, solution on the basis of justice, rationality, logic, reason and understanding. But this is what was missing. A missing dream of a new world where there will be connectivity, empathy and collective endeavor for going forward," he added.

"And I must say in 2013 China brought about this dream for the people of the world," said Chowdhury, referring to China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.

"The dream is connecting through land and maritime routes," he commented on the initiative.

On the PRC's founding anniversary, Chowdhury said, since 1949, for the past 70 years, the progress of China has been enormous.

"I have seen the changing face of China," said Chowdhury, adding that the changes happened in many sectors.

On the Bangladesh-China bilateral relation, he said China has always been helpful to Bangladesh.

"We do hope the Belt and Road Initiative will be a turning point for the rest of the world," said the Bangladeshi statesman.

He said Dhaka is a trusted friend of Beijing.

"And together we make efforts to build the world a better place to live."
