BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Argentine political, diplomatic and trade leaders on Tuesday welcomed their country's growing relationship with China ahead of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

They made those comments in articles published in a special supplement by leading national newspaper Clarin in conjunction with the Chinese Embassy here in Buenos Aires.

October 1 "is a key date in the modern history of a millenary country and culture in Asia that has traveled on a transformative path since 1949, today being the world's second largest economy," Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Faurie wrote in his article.

"Both of our countries are now working as part of the comprehensive strategic partnership, which implies that our ties are developing in all fields and encompass areas with a high-level of cooperation and coordination, bilaterally and in multilateral forums," said Faurie.

"We hope to continue to accompany the PRC along this path," said Faurie, adding that "Argentines congratulate the Chinese people and government on such a significant occasion, heralding well-being and a prosperous future for the country."

"China represents an extraordinary example for the developing world," said Diego Guelar, the Argentine ambassador to China. He also highlighted China's role in promoting "global cooperation based on the win-win principle."

Federico Pinedo, provisional president of the Argentine Senate, said that China has shown "the world that wealth can grow and expand while reducing inequality, as they incorporated hundreds of millions of people into the middle class."

In doing this, China "changed the global economy," said Pinedo.

Argentine Agro-Industry Minister Luis Miguel Etchevehere called for "strengthening the partnership" that "permanently provides both nations with new opportunities."

Marisa Bircher, Argentina's international trade secretary, said China has become "one of the leading economic and political powers" in the world since its founding, adding that China is "a strategic partner for Argentina's development."

Chinese Ambassador to Argentina Zou Xiaoli noted China has made a "historic leap" in development over seven decades.

"Thanks to the guidance of the CPC (Communist Party of China), the past 70 years have witnessed titanic transformations that have taken the Chinese people from difficult survival to a moderately prosperous society in every sense," said Zou.

China is committed "to working together with the rest of the peace-loving countries and peoples to defend equality and international justice, and to achieve shared development," Zou said.
