TIRANA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- In the second quarter (Q2) of 2019, Albania's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.31 percent year-on-year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Monday.
Compared to the first quarter of 2019, GDP in Q2 increased by 0.68 percent.
According to INSTAT, the main contributors to this increase in Q2 were the trade, transport, accommodation and food services sectors, by 0.71 percent. Other sectors that contributed positively were: public administration, and education and health (0.42 percent), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (0.41 percent), and the real estate sector (0.35 percent).
In Q2 2019, the sectors with a negative contribution were: industry, electricity and water, (minus 0.23 percent), construction (minus 0.15 percent), and arts, entertainment and recreation services (minus 0.48 percent). Enditem
