BERLIN, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- The German benchmark stock DAX index at the start of trading Tuesday were up 0.33 percent, or 41.59 points, and opening at 12,469.67 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's largest 30 companies at the start of trading was financial service provider Wirecard, increasing 0.77 percent, followed by luxury car maker Daimler with 0.70 percent and sportswear manufacturer Adidas with 0.66 percent.

U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs had left the Wirecard share on the bank's "Conviction Buy List" with a price target of 230 euros (around 250 U.S. dollars) prior to the payment processor's capital market day on Oct. 8 in New York.

The investors' event of Wirecard would be likely to focus primarily on the structural growth opportunities in the payment systems market, said Goldman Sachs analyst Mohammed Moawalla on Monday.

In addition, Wirecard would probably also present an update on its medium-term business targets.

Shares of Bayer fell by 0.32 percent. The German agrochemical giant was the biggest loser at the start of trading.

The euro declined by 0.09 percent on Tuesday morning local time, trading at 1.0888 dollars.

On Tuesday, German Minister for Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier is scheduled to reveal further details of his governmental strategy to support small and medium sized companies (SMEs) in Germany.
