RIYADH, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia is working on removing Sudan from the U.S. state sponsors of terror list, the Saudi foreign ministry tweeted on Sunday.

The ministry highlighted that the kingdom will set up new investment projects and improve the existing ones in Sudan.

Sudan, on the other hand, vowed to support Saudi Arabia in international events and promote better investment and agricultural environment in the country, the ministry said.

The announcement was made after a negotiation session held on Sunday between King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and President of Sudan's sovereign council General Abdul-Fattah al-Burhan in Riyadh.

They reviewed fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples as well as ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
