China's e-commerce logistics business rises in September: survey

BEIJING, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's e-commerce logistics business has increased steadily in September, according to a survey released by the China Logistics and Purchasing Federation and e-commerce giant JD.com Tuesday.

The e-commerce logistics index came in at 111.8, up 0.5 points from a month earlier, according to the survey.

The sub-index for total business volume went up 2.6 points from the previous month to 130.7, indicating rising demand.

In terms of regions, business volume in western and northeastern regions dipped while that in eastern and central regions rebounded month on month, the indices showed.

Rural e-commerce demand was robust in September as the sub-index for rural business volume went up 1.8 points to 129.4 points, according to the survey.

Wang Wei, director of the Market Economy Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council, said the peak season for e-commerce logistics has come with continued rise in demand and improved efficiency.
