BEIRUT, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Commercial Attache at the Iraqi Embassy in Lebanon Moshriq Ismail Mohammad invited on Tuesday Lebanese companies to take part in the Baghdad International Fair, the National News Agency reported.

"We are ready to offer facilities and discounts for Lebanese companies who participate in the fair," Mohammad said during his meeting with Mohammad Saleh, head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon city, in southern Lebanon.

Mohammad said that there is a big space dedicated to Lebanese companies at the fair which will take place in October and November of this year.

He added that the opening of the crossing between the Iraqi town of Qaim and Syria's Boukamal in Anbar province will contribute to increasing trade between Lebanon and Iraq.

Meanwhile, Saleh said that Iraq is considered an investment destination for a big number of Lebanese.

"A big number of Lebanese people have invested in tourism, industry and trade in Iraq," he said.

He also noted that Lebanese exports to Iraq amounted to 176.7 million U.S. dollars in 2018.
