MADRID, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Norwegian forward Martin Odegaard has been one of the revelations of the season since returning to Spain to play for Real Sociedad on a two-year-loan deal from Real Madrid.

Odegaard's vision and skill have helped the side from San Sebastian to fifth place in the Liga Santander and sparked speculation that Real Madrid could look to end the loan before the agreed date of June 2021.

Speaking to Eurosport, Odegaard admitted that Real Madrid are keeping in close contact with him, but insisted he would not be abandoning Real Sociedad before the end of the loan.

"I am in contact with Real Madrid, sometimes they write to me and tell me how they are seeing my form," he said, adding that the club was pleased with his progress.

"Now they have congratulated me for my good start to the season and they say they are happy with me," commented the player.

However, despite his excellent performances, Odegaard said the idea was for him to stay with Real Sociedad until the end of the loan.

"The idea is to respect it. I am very happy in the team and I want to carry on until my two years here finish," he said.

Odegaard also spoke about Saturday's Euro 2020 qualifying game against Spain.

"I don't think the Spanish will be worried about me, they will come to play their usual game - they don't worry much about their rivals," he said.
