BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- World-renown coloratura Edita Gruberova wrapped up her first-ever tour in China on Wednesday with a performance at the National Center for the Performing Arts as part of the opening concert of the Beijing Music Festival (BMF).
Joining the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the 73-year-old soprano performed classic pieces from operas composed by Gaetano Donizetti, Gioachino Rossini, Giuseppe Verdi and others.
A total of 22 shows including operas, symphony concerts, recitals and chamber music concerts are scheduled for the ongoing 22nd BMF, where master classes, artists' dialogues, public rehearsals and other events will also take place.
The festival will run until Oct. 28.
