TOKYO, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Thursday despite a solid lead from Wall Street overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 23.63 points, or 0.11 percent, from Wednesday to 21,432.75.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 6.61 points, or 0.42 percent, at 1,575.09.
Insurance, real estate and bank-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
