BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will further promote trade and tourism relations with Brunei, especially through improving connectivity, Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Dr. Sujatmiko said.

According to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Saturday, Dr. Sujatmiko said during the inauguration of the "Remarkable Indonesia Expo 2019" that to increase trade and tourism ties between Brunei and Indonesia, one of the keys is to improve connectivity.

"Through coordination with various parties and an active approach, the Indonesian Embassy to Brunei is striving to speed up the realization of opening Indonesia-Brunei sea cargo including by conducting a seminar and business meeting in which representatives from PT PELNI, the largest shipping company of Indonesia, and the Trade Chamber of Indonesia will meet shipping operators and local businessmen," he said.

The ambassador said that Indonesia has produced quality products recognized by the world market, ranging from arts and crafts to technology-intensive goods.

"Beside manufactured products, the exhibition specifically gives the opportunity for Indonesian MSMEs to promote their products directly to prospective buyers in Brunei. We also encourage them to directly explore partnerships with local business people," he said.

Delegates of foreign countries and local business figures also attended the exhibition, which features 18 booths of handicrafts, pearl jewelry, home decorations, and travel tour packages to Indonesia.
