SINGAPORE, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.34 percent, or 10.48 points, to close at 3,124.45.
A total of 1.12 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 842.05 million Singapore dollars (about 615.08 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 198 to 196.
The STI index went up 0.79 percent, or 24.49 points, to close at 3,113.97 on last Friday.
