SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- U.S. ride-hailing company Uber Technologies, Inc. has laid off 350 more employees across multiple divisions, the company said Monday.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi disclosed the job cuts in a company-wide email made known on Monday, in which he said the layoffs were "difficult but necessary changes to ensure we have the right people in the right roles in the right locations."

Khosrowshahi said the job cuts affected employees from several sectors, including Eats, Global Rides and Platform, Performance Marketing, and Recruiting.

"Today is the last wave of a process we began months ago with our Marketing team, and more recently, with Product and Engineering," he said.

"Days like today are tough for us all, and the ELT (executive leadership team) and I will do everything we can to make certain that we won't need or have another day like this ahead of us," said the CEO of the San Francisco-based company.

The layoffs came on top of more than 800 job cuts the company made during the past three months.

Uber said it had nearly 27,000 employees as of the end of June of this year.
