BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A symposium was held by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) on Tuesday to discuss literary and artistic work in the new era and nurture industry workers' dedication and work ethics.

Eight representatives of literary and artistic workers spoke at the symposium and exchanged their views, vowing to create more profound and exquisite artistic works with a people-centered approach.

For artistic works to achieve excellence, their creations must draw inspiration from the experiences of the people, said Gao Mantang, a renowned scriptwriter and vice chairman of the China Television Artists Association.

Literary and artistic workers should focus on the great creations in the new era and depict the zeitgeist of the new era, said Li Yi, head of the leading Party members group of the CFLAC.

Li also stressed taking a people-centered approach in literary and artistic creation to meet people's expectations for a better life.
