LIMA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Spain-based striker Darwin Nunez scored with an 80th-minute header to earn 10-man Uruguay a 1-1 draw with Peru in their friendly here on Tuesday.

Nunez, a 20-year-old who plays for Almeria in Spain's second division, launched himself at Matias Vina's cross from the left to beat goalkeeper Pedro Gallese at the near post.

Christofer Gonzalez had put the hosts in front just after the half-hour mark with a glancing header after Luis Advincula's precise pass from the right flank.

Uruguay were forced to play most of the match with 10 men following the 26th-minute dismissal of Martin Caceres for dissent.

The result at Estadio Nacional in Peruvian capital Lima came four days after Uruguay defeated the Blanquirroja 1-0 in Montevideo.

Tuesday's clash marked Oscar Tabarez's 200th match as head coach of Uruguay. The 72-year-old first led the Celeste from 1988 to 1990 before returning to the post in 2006.
