FRANKFURT, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 40.32 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 12,670.11 points.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.12 percent. European health care company Fresenius SE and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero rose by 2.38 percent and 2.14 percent respectively..
Deutsche Boerse group, a marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities, lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.34 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas shed 1.88 percent and 1.74 percent respectively.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard was the most-traded share with a turnover of 458.3 million euros (505.2 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
