France's Rozner sets pace at Hainan Open European Challenge Tour

SANYA, China, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The first day of the 2019 Hainan Open European Challenge Tour witnessed French golfer Antoine Rozner set the pace at Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club.

With eight birdies and one bogey, Rozner went seven under par with 65. The 26-year-old said he was very pleased with the result, despite strong winds. Behind Rozner are Matthew Jordan of Great Britain and Josh Geary of New Zealand.

The 2019 Hainan Open European Challenge Tour, which will run until October 20, is being held in China's southern coastal city of Sanya, with 126 players from 20 countries and regions competing for a total prize purse of 350,000 U.S. dollars.
