Senior CPC official calls for improved petition work

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called for solid efforts to improve petition work in the new era to better safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a special symposium on the petition work.

He also required integration of the petition work with modern technology to improve efficiency and credibility.
