THE HAGUE, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Ajax beat Feyenoord 4-0 in the Dutch Classic on Sunday in Amsterdam, while PSV suffered a big home loss 4-0 against AZ.

Eleventh in the Eredivisie, struggling giants Feyenoord had low expectations ahead of the "Klassieker", but what happened in the first minutes was worse than they thought. Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and Nicolas Tagliafico made it 2-0 five minutes later.

Feyenoord looked hopeless in the first half and gave Ajax plenty of room to excel. David Neres chipped in the third goal and Donny van de Beek headed in the fourth before half-time.

Fortunately for Feyenoord Ajax slowed down the tempo in the second half and it stayed 4-0 in the Johan Cruijff Arena. It was the joint-biggest league win for Ajax against Feyenoord since the turn of the century (4-0 in 2006 and 5-1 in 2009).

AZ handed PSV their first home defeat after 54 matches and not only that, the team from Alkmaar humiliated the home team. Without injured key players Donyell Malen, Mohamed Ihattaren and Steven Bergwijn and suspended Nick Viergever and Jorrit Hendrix PSV started far from their best and after a red card for Ryan Thomas for a rough challenge on Fredrik Midtsjo it became even more difficult for PSV.

AZ had no mercy and Myron Boadu scored two times just before half-time. In the second half AZ dominated, but lacked finish, with especially Boadu missing some chances. Jonas Svensson and substitute Dani de Wit finally found the target and made it 4-0 for the visitors.

Ajax now lead the Eredivisie table with 29 points from 11 matches, followed by AZ with 23 points. PSV dropped to the third place with 23 points as well and Vitesse also are on 23 points, after losing 2-0 at home against ADO Den Haag on Saturday.
