BERLIN, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier got lightly injured after falling from the stage at a conference on Tuesday.
The minister tripped while leaving the podium at the end of his speech to the Digital Summit on the country's digital strategy in the western city of Dortmund, and the event was briefly interrupted.
He was taken to a local hospital after being unconscious for several minutes, according to local media BILD.
Altmaier confirmed later on Twitter that he was lightly injured and the situation was "nothing serious."
"After the panicky moments of my fall, I was treated very well by the staff at Dortmund Clinic," said Altmaier. "Apart from cuts and bruises, nothing seems to be serious."
