BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 70 percent of respondents in a recent survey suggest college students have more internships during their academic years in order to land a desirable job.

Of the 2,001 respondents, 69.7 percent suggest college students take multiple internships to find out their career interests and choose a job fit for them, according to the survey conducted by the China Youth Daily.

Professor Wang Ting from the China University of Political Science and Law was quoted by the newspaper as saying that research his team conducted found that more internship experience helps narrow the gap between students' workplace skills and employers' demand.

"Therefore, I suggest college students learn the demands of employers during their internships, which will be conducive to future job hunting," said Wang.

Around 47.3 percent of the respondents think that college students should make career development plans before graduation.

In addition, another 30.9 percent hope that employers should do more in job orientation and training for new employees.
