BEIJING, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Construction on the snowboard big air venue for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics has completed and it will be ready to host test events in December, according to city authorities.

Huang Hui, an official at the Beijing Major Projects Construction Headquarters Office, told Xinhua on Friday that the construction work for the big air venue has finished by the end of October.

Measuring in at 164 meters long, the highest point of the venue is 60m while the widest part of the track is 34m.

The snowboard big air facility, located in the Shougang compound in the west of Beijing, is one of the two new competition venues in the Beijing competition zone. The other is the National Speed Skating Oval.

Four medal events will be contested at the Shougang big air venue in 2022. The big air site will remain in place following the Games.

The first FIS World Cup big air events at Shougang will take place from December 12 to 14 and provide a first test of the Olympic venue this season.
