PARIS, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The French government would implement quotas for the number of immigrant workers "next summer" to improve the organization of professional immigration with a focus on the need of domestic job market, Labor Minister Muriel Penicaud said on Tuesday.

"Our priority is to help the French return to the job market. Then it is to welcome the refugees and enable them to find a job," Penicaud told BFMTV news channel.

"Those we receive in the context of professional immigration have to respond to the needs that we can not satisfy," she said.

The minister added the government would unveil, next summer, a list of relevant professions to be covered by the quotas, while the number of immigrant workers would be fixed each year according to "France's human resources requirements."

"If there is still a need, for the benefit of the country and that of the companies, we will bring in the people we need, depending on their profession and their qualification," Penicaud said.

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will unveil on Wednesday a package of new measures to handle the immigration issue.
