DUSHANBE, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen armed militants were killed and five captured early Wednesday morning after launching a failed attack on a Tajik outpost bordering Uzbekistan, local authorities said here on Wednesday.
A Tajik border guard and a policeman also died in the shootout, which took place 60 km southwest of the Tajik capital Dushanbe, said the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.
The militants, who belong to the Islamic States group, illegally crossed the border from Afghanistan on Sunday, according to the committee's press service.
