BERLIN, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Turnover of German financial service provider Wirecard amounted to 1.9 billion euros (2.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the first nine months of 2019, up 36.7 percent year on year from a year earlier, the company revealed Wednesday.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) jumped 38.4 percent to 553.1 million euros in the first three quarters of 2019, according to Wirecard.

The volume of transactions handled by Wirecard was also up over one third between January and September and amounted to 124.2 billion euros in total value.

"Alongside strong organic growth, we are opening up one of the largest growth markets with our entry into the Chinese market and expanding our competitive advantage even further," said Wirecard CEO Markus Braun.

Wirecard announced on Tuesday to enter the Chinese market by gradually acquiring all shares of Beijing-based payment service provider AllScore Payment Services.

"The Chinese market represents a tremendous opportunity for Wirecard," Braun said, adding that the licenses of AllScore Payment Services would be a "perfect match to the global platform strategy of Wirecard."

Wirecard confirmed its business outlook for 2019 as a whole on Wednesday, as the company saw "positive growth opportunities" for its relevant sales markets despite geopolitical and financial uncertainties.

EBITDA is anticipated to amount to between 765 million and 815 million euros in 2019, according to Wirecard announced. For 2020, EBITDA is expected to further increase to between 1.0 billion and 1.1 billion euros. (1 euro=1.11 U.S. dollars)
