BRATISLAVA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Slovakia men's ice hockey team defeated Germany 3-2 in overtime on Sunday but nevertheless finished last at the four-nation Deutschland Cup.
After Andreas Eder scored the first two goals for Germany, Slovakia managed to rally when Matus Sukel scored a goal and assisted on another one to bring the game into overtime.
Slovakia's Peter Zuzin became the hero of the match, putting one past Germany's goalie Mathias Niederberger two minutes into overtime.
The Deutschland Cup went to Switzerland for the third time in history despite losing to the Russia Olympic Team 4-3 in a shootout on Sunday.
Slovakia, the four-time cup winner, ended in last place, with the hosts Germany in second. After winning the two previous editions, Russia finished third this time around.
