Philippine shares close 0.04 pct higher

MANILA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Philippine shares closed 0.04 percent higher on Tuesday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 2.96 points to 8012.34. While the all-share index went down by 0.66 points, or 0.01 percent, to 4,788.62.

Trading volume reached 489.23 million shares worth 4.73 billion pesos (93.63 million U.S. dollars).

There were 76 gainers, 100 losers while 57 stocks closed flat.
