TOKYO, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower on Thursday as the yen's overnight appreciation against the U.S. dollar weighed on exporter issues and soured the market mood.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 16.61 points, or 0.07 percent, from Wednesday to 23,303.26.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 2.33 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,698.00.
