BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and the 21st Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology will be held from Dec. 18 to 19 in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province.
The convention will mainly discuss the next generation of information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), biological medicine, new energy, new material, advanced manufacturing and marine economy, said Wang Guilin, director of Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau at a press conference in Beijing.
The convention, focusing on constructing the international innovation and technology hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will integrate sci-tech projects, talents and finance, and attract more overseas talents to return for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Since its inception, the convention has attracted almost 50,000 domestic and overseas high-level talents from 140 countries and regions.
