BERLIN, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sales of Henkel amounted to 5.1 billion euros (5.6 billion U.S. dollars) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2019, marking a year-on-year increase of 0.8 percent, the German consumer goods company announced on Thursday.

In Q3, Henkel had profited from currency effects as well as acquisitions and divestments, according to the company.

However, organic sales, which exclude the effects from acquisition, divestments and currency effects, declined by 0.3 percent year-on-year, Henkel noted. Henkel's business would have been "characterized by an increasingly difficult market environment."

Operational profits (EBIT) of Henkel declined by 8.2 percent to 926 million euros in Q3, resulting in an adjusted EBIT margin of 16.7 percent.

Henkel confirmed its business outlook for 2019 as a whole on Thursday. The adjusted EBIT margin is set to range between 16 and 17 percent in 2019. Enditem
