BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese romantic drama "Somewhere Winter" led the Chinese mainland box office on Friday, its opening day, according to the China Movie Data Information Network Saturday.
"Somewhere Winter," which tells a love story about two generations and three cities, generated 27.98 million yuan (about 3.99 million U.S. dollars) in the market.
It was followed by action-comedy "Charlie's Angels," the third installment in the film series, which raked in about 18.75 million yuan on the first day of its screening on the Chinese mainland Friday.
The film features a new generation of private detectives working for the mysterious Charlie.
The critically acclaimed Italian drama film "The Legend of 1900" with its restored 4K version returned to Chinese mainland theaters on Friday, taking the third place on the chart with a box office revenue of 14.28 million yuan.
