Violinist Lyu Siqing to perform solo in Beijing

BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Violin recital of Lyu Siqing will be staged on Nov. 23 at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing.

A total of six pieces of classic music will be performed by Lyu, including Beethoven's "Violin Sonata No.5 in F Major," Brahms' "Scherzo," Paganini's "Cantabile" and Fritz Kreisler's "Tambourin Chinois."

As one of the most influential Chinese violinists nowadays, Lyu has performed in renowned concert halls across over 40 countries and regions, such as Musikverein in Vienna, Alice Tully Hall in New York City and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Starting to learn to play violin at the age of four, Lyu was the youngest student ever to be admitted by the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
