Folk art performed to boost people's fire safety knowledge in Inner Mongolia

Baoyin Dailai (front), head of a musical team, teaches firefighters songs in Horqin Youyi Zhongqi, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Nov. 17, 2019. To promote people's awareness of fire safety, some senior citizens voluntarily formed a musical team and performed Haolaibao, a kind of Mongolian folk art featuring singing in Mongolian languages with instrumental accompaniment, related to fire safety. For nearly ten years, the team has created over 100 Haolaibao songs with local firefighting department, and presented about 1,000 performance to Mongolian herdsmen and farmers. During the fire-prune season, the team members are particularly busy performing in schools, communities and households to help boost people's fire safety knowledge. The team was awarded honorary title by Ministry of Emergency Management in 2018. (Xinhua/Peng Yuan)
