LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh teams of late pilot Steven Holcomb will be presented with the reallocated Olympic silver medals from Sochi 2014 at the Team USA Awards 2019 on Tuesday.

According to a Team USA press release, the medal ceremonies will be part of the 2019 Team USA Awards celebrations on Tuesday at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles.

Attending will be athletes Chris Fogt (4-man), Steve Langton (2-man and 4-man) and Curt Tomasevicz (4-man). Pilot Holcomb (2-man and 4-man), who passed away unexpectedly in May 2017, will be represented by his mother, Jean Schaefer, his father, Steve Holcomb Sr., and his sisters, Megan Holcomb and Stephanie Peterson.

"We are happy that we now can celebrate and be proud of the silver medal accomplishments, and we are looking forward to experiencing this special ceremony and tribute among our friends, families and fellow athletes at the Team USA Awards," Fogt, Langton and Tomasevicz said in a joint statement that was quoted in the Team USA press release.

"As a team, it means a lot to have our efforts, sacrifice and hard work appropriately vindicated. That being said, this is a win not just for Team Holcomb but for all athletes who continue to do the right thing."

Holcomb finished third in both Sochi races in 2014 - in the 2-man Bobsleigh with push athlete Langton, and in the 4-man with Fogt, Langton and Tomasevicz.

Both teams have been promoted into the silver medal positions following doping-related disqualifications of the gold medal-winning Russian crews.
