SOFIA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian authorities have neutralized a six-member organized criminal group responsible for making and distributing counterfeit personal documents and 100-euro banknotes, officials said here on Tuesday.
During the operation, which was held on Friday, the authorities searched 12 houses and seven vehicles, and seized 100 fake 100-euro banknotes, slugs for the production of personal documents, stamps and holographic stickers, the Specialized Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Siyka Mileva said at a press conference.
One of the group members was detained when he was making counterfeit documents, Mileva said.
The gang had been active since the beginning of this year, making false identity documents such as identity cards, passports, driver's licenses, marriage and birth certificates, Mileva said.
