SHANGHAI, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Guoan continued their chase for the Chinese Super League (CSL) title as they completed a double-kill against Shanghai Shenhua after a 2-1 away victory here on Friday.

Guoan ranked third before Friday's match, two points behind leaders Guangzhou Evergrande with three rounds left. Cedric Bakambu shone in the game as the hitman scored one and set up another, helping the capital team beat their archrivals.

Guoan broke the deadlock just six minutes into the game as Bakambu steered his header into the net on Piao Cheng's corner.

Bakambu should have completed a brace with a stunning loop before the interval but it was flagged offside.

The home side leveled the game 11 minutes after the break when Odion Ighalo converted a penalty after Giovanni Moreno struck Li Ke's hand in the box.

Guoan responded quickly five minutes later when Bakambu sprinted down the right and squared for Renato Augusto as the Brazilian send the ball into the quite corner with a first-time finish.

Guoan lead the table temporarily with 64 points, one ahead of Evergrande.
